I have a 10 month old Cocker Spaniel that is a BRAT! My puppy, Louie, believed he ruled the house and me!!! Things were of control. I needed help!
So I started researching training options. I found Fox Hollow Kennel’s web-sight and they offered in home training. Which is what I thought I needed. I filled out their information form. Amy, the owner, quickly responded by phone and we scheduled an in house meeting the following week.
I immediately received a calendar invite. Amy arrived on time! My dog, Louie showed himself right away. During our meeting, Amy throughly explained her training concepts and program while working with Louie. By the end of the hour, my little BRAT was starting to consistently respond to Amy’s directions. She explained I was using to many words which was confusing and frustrating Louie.
We decided that a 3 week boarding training program would be good for both Louie and myself - for a reset and fresh restart. While Louie was away I received several email updates and videos! Amy would always responded quickly to any and all my questions. I was so taken back by Louie’s positive growth in such a short time!
Louie came home a totally different dog!
Amy stayed for two hours making sure I knew how to communicate and work with him. It was very rewarding seeing Louie so calm and responsive to me. Amy’s calm, positive and firm approach is always so respectful of Louie and me. I totally relate to her down to earth and common sense style of training. Louie clearly adores Amy by the way he immediately sits and stares into her eyes during our additional support training lessons.
I am so pleased with my experience with Fox Hollow Kennel. Louie is growing into a well behaved young dog and I am becoming a positive trainer/mom.
I CANNOT express how amazing Amy is and the work she does. We have a 3 year old Great Dane who we rescued from a “who-knows” situation. Zeus is dog reactivity and people reactive when he’s inside the home and extremely dog reactive when he’s outside the home. It was to the point where he would see someone pass by the house or a dog would bark and he would explode and jump around and go crazy. Then we had our daughter. This dog would run through the entire house going ballistic every time she would cry or make any noise in general. I lost all hope in him and was ready to rehome him but I let my husband find someone to train him as our last resort. We talked to several trainers throughout the area and Amy was the best person we talked to that we felt comfortable with handling our dog.
AN ABSOLUTE MIRACLE WORKER. Zeus has done a complete 180! To the point where I have cried from the videos that we were sent while he was away. He’s still a work in progress but I am beyond thankful for Amy and the work she’s done. It finally feels like we can enjoy our lives and Zeus will have a better quality of life in the long run. Not only that but I don’t live with constant anxiety with waiting for him to have an outburst or for him to freak out when our 2 month old cries.
The amount of support she gives is unbelievable as well. I could never recommend her enough! Thank you so much, Amy!

Amy is truly a god sent. When I was told there was no other option but euthanasia for my dog, she welcomed her in to see what she could do with no hesitation. She wanted to see my dog succeed and be better just as much as I did and trained her according to what my dog needed specifically - and even found tracking helps her relax. It made me feel even better that I am chopped liver to my dogs when they are with Amy because they love her so much. Both of my dogs are the happiest they have been in many years because of her. They are able to comfortably be on their places in the house together, and occasionally play with each other outside for the first time in 2 years. My dog used to get scared at the sight of a dog in the distance, now we live in the city and walk on the river walk trail and pass dozens of dogs everyday. I still drive an hour to board my dogs because I know they are safe in her care. Thanks Amy, we couldn’t have gotten where we are without you !

We cannot recommend Fox Hollow & Amy highly enough! We sent our puppy to a 3 week Board & Train when he was 7 months old because like most puppies he was driving us crazy as we felt like he didn't listen or understand any direction or basic manners. My first phone call with Amy impressed me beyond belief as I spoke with other trainers (franchise & private) and could tell her approach was the right fit for our family and what we wanted in our outcomes. Amy picked him up a few weeks later for our scheduled dates and got to know our lifestyle, house, and what we wanted most. We had a list of things but our #1 was recall and our #2 was to get him to stop counter-surfing. Amy sent photos & updates along the way and when he came home he had mastered our complete list. She gave us great instruction on how to make sure we reinforced it and maintained it and has continued to be available for support when we get stuck or feel like he's relapsing. He's a happier dog because he can please us now and we are a much calmer household that doesn't yell or get frustrated with him because we have the tools to tell him what we expect and he has the tools to deliver. The investment is worth every penny!!!

I will never take my dog anywhere else! My pup tends to be nervous around new people and has separation anxiety when I'm away. He is happy as a clam when he is with Amy and Jenn! I always hear about how he wants to be cuddled and give kisses to them. He NEVER does that with anyone outside of the family. That's how you know they are the BEST! They will care for your baby like their own!
